Sanand Dholera semiconductor subsidy
India is fast becoming a global hub for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, with Gujarat leading the charge. At the absolute center of this technological revolution are the industrial corridors of Sanand and Dholera. Backed by aggressive government incentives, these two regions are rapidly transforming into India’s next-generation tech hotspots. The massive momentum behind the Sanand and Dholera tech boom boils down to an unprecedented, double-layered subsidy engine. The Central Government provides 50% capital assistance for approved semiconductor fabs under the India Semiconductor Mission. The Gujarat State Government then steps in with an additional 40% capital support, covering a massive portion of the initial setup costs for global tech giants. Beyond capital expenditure, the operational incentives in the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) are reshaping the electronics ecosystem. Companies moving into the Dholera Semicon City receive a staggering 75% subsidy on the first 200 acres of land. This is paired with a power tariff subsidy of two rupees per unit for ten years, electricity duty exemptions, and highly subsidized water rates. These lucrative policies have already attracted massive global investments. Industry giants like Micron and CG Power have anchored major testing and packaging operations in Sanand, while Tata Electronics is setting up a mega-fab facility in Dholera. As these projects go live, the Sanand-Dholera corridor is setting the definitive blueprint for India's high-tech future.
